About the Artist
Rachel Denny was born in Portland, Oregon and spent her early years in rural Northern Idaho and Montana. She returned to Portland to attend Pacific Northwest College of Art and never left. She spends much of her time learning to manipulate found and industrial materials into sculpture. She finds inspiration in the beauty and intricacy of the natural world and in tactile materials such as wool, lead, and resin. She has shown her work in galleries since 1996 and is currently working on large scale resin sculpture, metal squirrels, and a knitted sheep.
