Lorena Siminovich

Guest CuratorLorena Siminovich

Lorena is an artist and designer, who splits her time between illustration assignments, and her company petit collage. She likes vintage children's books, scandinavian textiles, japanese illustration and polka dots. Esteban works in apparel design and is responsible for the Boys division of one of the biggest retailers in the US. He collects random stuff like printed packing tape, hotel pens and anatomy 3D figures. And he won't admit he has too many sneakers and jeans.

Of Two Minds

If you are in a relationship and you share a home you know the tension that comes with furnishing your nest. You probably argue and later settle about the chair or the coffee table. But then there is the art, and it seems that when it comes to the walls, stakes are higher. After sharing our first home in Brooklyn and our newest one in San Francisco, we are really familiar with dialog that goes when is time to purchase new art. So the question here is what pieces will you choose if you didn't have to consult or think about the other? How does your background or taste influences your choices? Here is the result, first 5 pieces picked by Lorena, next 5 pieces by Esteban. Some choices were predictable, yes, but at the end we learned about each other more and had a nice surprise like choosing the same artist!
